Novosibirskaya region is situated on the West-Siberian plain. It borders on Altaisky region in the south, on Kazakhstan in the south-west, on Omskaya region in the west, on Tomskaya region in the north, on Kemerovskaya region in the east.
Main river is the Ob. There are a lot of lakes and marshes. 1/5 of the territory is covered by forests.
The climate is sharp continental.
